Rector's Welcome

Dear Friends,

Reverend Canon Pat JohnstonThank you for visiting our parish website. We’re St. Matthew’s, an Anglican community in the Glebe area of Ottawa. We try to share here something of our vibrant life and mission. Better yet, we hope that you will pay us a visit, on a warm summer Sunday perhaps, or in the fall if you’re looking for a church home. Refreshments after the 10 a.m. Liturgy on Sundays are a good time to meet one another!

Yours in Christian faith,

The Rev. Canon Pat Johnston
Rector

Treasures Auction! Print E-mail
St. Matthew's Treasures Auction on Saturday October 23, noon to five pm, will raise money for the Council of the North's youth suicide prevention program as well as 'greening' the church initiatives.  Short stays at vacation properties in Europe and North America will be on offer, as well as 'consumable' items such as dinners or tea parties, catered meals and even wine tastings.  Past auctions have featured excellent art works, including Inuit limited edition prints, etchings by well-known Canadian artists, and contemporary oils by talented local artists as well as superb antiques, fine china and silver.  More to follow!

Trinity Institute 2011

St. Matthew's will again host the Trinity Institute's Theological Conference via webcast in January 2011.  Click the link to view a sneak preview of the conference:  Reading the Bible through Other Eyes.
