Does Theology Work?

Learning to Think and Act Theologically Together

Canon Dr. James Woodward, Canon of St. George's Chapel, Windsor, England will be sharing his commitment to thinking and theology as tools for growth for ordinary people.  Canon Woodward will facilitate our exploration of some of the questions that shape human well-being as we participate actively through listening, conversation and engagement with issues. In particular, he will ask us to consider the role theology plays in our discipleship, encouraging honesty about the challenges of relating belief to practice.

He will challenge participants to consider their images for doing theology, consider the nature and process of theological reflection, and work this theme through particular case studies. Our aim is to understand the importance of theological reflection in the contemporary world.  Dr. Woodward has written extensively in the area of pastoral and practical theology and is a well-known lecturer and seminar leader in England.  He has diverse experiences of the Church, including leading small congregations, working as a chaplain in health care, and teaching in university settings.

A number of events are planned, including a Clergy Day.  More can be learned about each event by clicking the links below (a small PDF will be downloaded).
