Evensong is a particular treasure of the Anglican tradition, based on the Vespers and Compline of the early Church. The chief focus is on the reading of passages from the Old and New Testaments, with canticles from the Bible and other hymns sung and the offering of communal and private prayer.
At this intimate service, the congregation is encouraged to sit in the choir stalls in the chancel and to join in the singing of the hymns, responses and canticles with the choir.
All are welcome. Please stay for the reception following the service.
